This Loneliness Awareness Week, let’s remind each other: You might feel lonely sometimes but you don’t have to do it alone.
The MRKH App function has advanced friend finder function and this week is a big reminder of why this will be such an important innovation to our community. Join our mission here https://www.mrkh.app
This week is Loneliness Awareness Week – a time to shine a light on something we all experience but often struggle to talk about.
Organised by the Marmalade Trust, the week is about building understanding and connection, and reminding people that feeling lonely is completely human.
It’s not a weakness. It’s not something to be ashamed of. It’s something that all of us feel at different times in life.
And if you live with MRKH, those feelings can sometimes run even deeper.
When loneliness has layers
MRKH can come with a silence that’s hard to explain. You might go years without meeting anyone else who understands it. You might feel left out of conversations about periods, pregnancy, or womanhood. You might hold a version of yourself back, because the world isn’t always ready for the full story.
And that can leave you feeling cut off, even when you’re not physically alone.
But the truth is, so many people with MRKH are walking around feeling this too. Just waiting to meet someone who gets it. Someone who says, "me too."
That’s why Loneliness Awareness Week matters.
Because it gives us a moment to pause, to speak openly, and to find comfort in knowing that you are not the only one feeling this way.
Tips for when you’re feeling lonely or isolated
If you’re feeling disconnected right now, here are a few gentle things that might help:
1. Let yourself name it- Sometimes just saying, “I feel lonely” out loud or writing it down can bring relief. It takes the pressure off pretending and allows you to meet yourself with honesty.
2. Do one small thing that connects you to others Send a message. Join a group chat. Listen to a podcast by someone who gets it. Watch a live from someone in the MRKH community. Tiny steps count.
3. Get creative Loneliness often carries big emotions. Drawing, painting, writing, or making music can be a powerful release. You don’t need to be “good” at it—just let it flow.
4. Move your body, change your space
A walk, a stretch, or even a change of scenery can shift the emotional fog. Sometimes moving your body helps move your thoughts too.
5. Remind yourself: this feeling isn’t permanent Loneliness is a state, not a flaw. It’s something you move through, not something you are.
A space where you’re understood
The new MRKH app was created exactly for moments like this.
It’s a safe, private space built by and for people with MRKH. The advanced Friend Finder will help you find meaningful bonds with others who truly understand. You can search by location, language, hobbies, mood, or even by how much you want to share. Some people are chatty. Some just want a quiet sense of community. All of it is welcome.
You’ll also find group chats, events, creative spaces, a mood tracker, online courses and a community board full of support and understanding.
In a world that is crowded, we’re creating our own tailor-made space.
Because you deserve to feel seen, supported, and never alone in this.
