The MRKH Community Magazine - Bringing Our Story To Life

Have you heard about our zine project for MRKH syndrome?

A printed keepsake, created by and for MRKHers.

This magazine began with a simple but important idea…what would it look like to hold our stories in our hands? Not just as posts that disappear on a screen, but as something physical, something lasting, something we can return to.

Issue 1 of the MRKH magazine will be a collection of artwork from MRKHers alongside creative writing, articles and contributions from artists and creatives within the community. It will bring together poetry, letters, photography and visual art, forming a shared archive of lived experience expressed through creativity.

We are creating this because stories deserve space. Because MRKH is lived in many different ways and those experiences deserve to be seen, heard and held in a form that feels real and lasting. This is about visibility, but it is also about care, healing, togetherness and making something together.

You are invited to contribute. Submissions are open until 1st June.

5 ideas of what you could submit

  • Artwork

Anything you have created or want to create, including drawing, painting, digital art or mixed media.

  • A self portrait

This could include a photo of you, a drawing, or a creative interpretation, because you are also art.

  • A collage

A layered piece made from images, words or textures that reflect your story or feelings.

  • A photograph

Something you have captured that holds meaning, a moment, a feeling or a perspective.

  • Poetry, a letter, or writing

Words that express your experience, thoughts or something you want to share with the MRKH community.

Any funding raised will go directly towards the production of the zine, including photoshoots, design, curation and the launch event.

We appreciate all support in bringing this project to life.

This is something to hold that also holds you.

The magazine will also be distributed to MRKHers in areas where access to social media or online communities may be limited, helping us create something truly shared, tangible and collective.

Let’s make something social together as a community.

Thank you for all the beautiful work submitted so far.
