Introducing The Rarely Project
We want to share something important with you and bring you into the next chapter of our work together.
For many of you, this space began through MRKH. Through shared experiences, conversations, meet ups, creative workshops, writing groups, WhatsApp chats and moments of support that did not exist before. What started small has grown into something real and meaningful.
That will not change.
We are still here for MRKH. We are still committed to Mind Over MRKH, to our MRKH awareness and fight for change, writing workshops, London meet ups, WhatsApp community, collaborations, podcast, magazine and everything we have been building together. We are also still hopeful for the MRKH support app and continuing to grow and fund MRKH focused spaces exactly as before, in the same way they have always existed. We will continue collaborating with brilliant charities and friends along the way, supporting their work and acting as a community link whenever we can.
What is evolving is the structure that holds it all and we need funding to do our MRKH work too. We want to provide support to MRKHers that they may not have access to.
We are introducing The Rarely Project as a parent organisation.
The Rarely Project is a registered not for profit, UK Community Interest Company created to support people experiencing rare conditions, identity based loneliness and forms of emotional or social isolation that are not always spoken about or fully supported elsewhere.
MRKH will always remain at the heart of this work.
Rarely simply allows us to expand the circle.
It means we can continue to grow MRKH support while also reaching people living with other rare diagnoses, body experiences or emotional realities that carry similar feelings of isolation, difference or invisibility.
It also allows us to fund and develop more creative and therapeutic experiences that bridge a gap between clinical, community and self support. Spaces like writing, art, embodiment, self esteem building, storytelling and confidence focused experiences and access to practitioners that help people reconnect with themselves in different ways.
Some of you will already have experienced how powerful these spaces and resources can be.
Rarely is not replacing anything. It is holding it.
It is the structure that allows everything we already do to continue and grow sustainably, while also opening the door for others who need something similar.
We are still us. We are still MRKH. We are still community led, lived experience led and rooted in shared understanding.
You are still part of this. And we can't wait to introduce you to our expanding team, including MRKHers and partners committed to our cause.
We are simply widening the space so more people can belong in it too.
If you choose to stay with us, you will continue to hear about MRKH events, workshops and updates as before. You will also begin to see Rarely grow alongside it, as we expand into wider rare condition and self esteem focused work.
We are deeply grateful for every person who has been part of this journey so far. It is becoming part of something bigger.
You belong here. And you always will.
If you're in the UK you can join a UK Whatsapp Group, pop us a line by responding here mindovermrkh@gmail.com
If you're elsewhere in the world with MRKH, feel free to drop us a line on Instagram, @mindovermrkh to join a community group chat.
You can also seek MRKH support via many charities listed here.
We are slowly transforming our site and services, everything that existed before is still here and won't be going anywhere via our MRKH Hub.
Huge love and thanks,
Ellamae and The Mind Over MRKH Team.
